Compressed Component Digital acquisition format, supports 16:9 shooting.

Maxell and Sony.
Digital Betacam Mildly compressed Component Digital. EMTEC, Fuji, Maxell, Quantegy and Sony.
MPEG-IMX 50Mbps Component Digital, initially developed by Sony for RAI, and aimed at European market. Maxell (coming soon) and Sony.
HDCAM Compressed HD acquisition/mastering format. Fuji, Maxell and Sony.
DV   JVC, Maxell and Panasonic
DVCAM   Sony
DVCPRO 25Mbps, 50Mbps and HD (100Mbps) all use the same tape, trading off recording time for quality. Fuji, Maxell and Panasonic.
D1 The original high-end Component Digital tape Quantegy, and Sony.
D2 Composite Digital not often seen in Europe. Fuji, Maxell, Quantegy and Sony.
D3 Half-inch Composite Digital. Fuji, Maxell and Panasonic.
D5 Uncompressed Component Digital, not widely used in Europe, but HD version high quality mastering format. Maxell and Panasonic.
D6 Specialised cassette tape for uncompressed HD, in Europe used mainly by film industry. Maxell.
D9 Half-inch Component Digital format previously known as Digital-S. Is being developed to become backwards-compatible HD format. Fuji and JVC.
DTF and DTF-2 Data Tape Format the same size as Digital Betacam Large Format cassette which can store up to 8 hours of programme material. Maxell and Sony
MII Component Analogue. Fuji, and Panasonic.
U-matic   Quantegy and Sony
U-matic SP   Quantegy and Sony
One-inch
(C and B format)

Professional Hi8   Fuji and Sony
Professional VHS   EMTEC, JVC, Maxell and Sony
Professional S-VHS   Fuji, JVC, Maxell and Sony.
D-VHS Digital VHS - can record 21 hours of MPEG2 at 4.7Mbps or seven hours at 14.4 Mbps, or 3.5 hours of HDTV at 28.8 Mbps. For monitoring, it can even store 49 hours at 2 Mbps. VCRs also record/playback VHS and S-VHS. EMTEC and JVC
