- Find a fixed (ie non swivel) chair for your interviewee
- Check the background behind the chair - move anything distracting
(large plants, standard lamps etc)
- Raise the camera on the tripod until the lens is level with your interviewees
eyes
- Place the camera near to the interviewees eye line as possible (this
usually means the camera will be close to your shoulder)
- Check tripod spirit level
- Make final adjustments to lighting
- White balance the camera
- Check the interviewees eyes are in focus
- Zoom out to an MCU of the interviewee
- Mic the interviewee and check level
- Mic yourself and check levels
- Give a final check to picture composition
- Start recording
- Finish off with a 2 shot
